UNLOCKING DOORS-OPENING FUTURES

The Bayshore Jointure Commission Developmental Learning Centers offers highly effective educational techniques, strategies, and principles for designating, implementing and maintaining a simulating and high energy child-centered, educational setting for children on the autism spectrum, ages 3 – 21 years old. We believe that the needs of the “whole child” must be addressed through research-based and innovative programming. Our main areas of programming are pre-readiness skills of the early learner, communication, self-care, and functional academics. We encourage a healthy life style and socialization with peers. We also develop students’ career awareness, use of leisure time, community involvement and skills necessary for employment and on site job training.

There is no “one-size fits all” for children with autism. Each child has a unique strength to be developed and limitations to be remedied. Our goal at the Developmental Learning Center is not to fit the student to the program, but to fit the program to the student. Our families, school districts, and staff work as “one community” to teach, guide and nurture our children challenged by autism.
